DINOSAURS FOUND ON MARS

There is life on Mars - and it's huge!

Phoenix Mars Lander, NASA has sent a photo of what appears to be a very large upright dinosaur threatening on the surface of the planet red - and shocked scholars claim that discovery changed 'everything we thought we knew about the alien life.'

The space agency has delayed releasing the stunning news to the public pending a comprehensive analysis of the available data. But Dr. Simon Wycoff, an astrobiologist acting as consultant for project Phoenix, agreed to reveal what is known about the giant reptile and find the implications of sprawl.

In an exclusive interview with journalist Weekly World News Bob James, Wycoff said the creature looks like the dinosaur land Tyrannosaurus Rex, but at least three times larger than the ferocious predator.

WWN: why is the dinosaur so much bigger than dinosaur fossils on Earth?

WYCOFF: the relative absence of gravity on the Moon allowed the so great beast. The stronger gravity would cause any creature that big collapsing under its own weight.

WWN: the dinosaur's is the only one of its kind?

WYCOFF: it is very likely. We assume that they were breeding there for thousands of years.

WWN: why not discover us earlier?

WYCOFF: we believe that dinosaurs mainly live on the dark side of the Moon, the territory on which we know very little. They must have excellent night vision and thrive in cold temperatures.

WWN: that ate dinosaurs?

WYCOFF: each other. Members of their own species would be their sole source of nutrition. They are cannibalistic.

WWN: is it possible to estimate their population?

WYCOFF: is as we explore the dark side of the moon. Even in this case, it will be difficult to get an exact number due to the lack of light and the terrain of the Martian surface.

WWN: how the dinosaurs got there?

WYCOFF: at this point, your proposal is as good as mine. One theory is that microscopic organisms were transported throughout the solar system comets. On this account, life on earth began when one of these biological material comets tabled on our planet after crashing on it. The same phenomenon could occur on Mars.

WWN : dinosaurs became extinct on Earth there are 70 million years. Why is that they have survived on Mars?

WYCOFF : dinosaurs were erased from the Earth's surface by a massive asteroid impact. Apparently March escaped a similarcalamity.

WWN: President Bush has promised to establish a human colony on Mars. What is this discovery to this plan?

WYCOFF: it puts the kibosh on this subject, I think. A maximum of six or seven astronauts will result in a human expedition to Mars. They would no more that a tasty appetizers for creatures make this size. It would be crazy to spend more than 50 billion $ to send the man hard just to be eaten by a dinosaur. The American taxpayer would never stand for it.

BIGFOOT SKULL FOUND!

A scientist in Idaho found a fossilized Bigfoot skull.

Ralph Barnkopf came by the West Coast offices of WWN and showed us a Bigfoot skull he found in the woods outside Boise.

“It’s a Bigfoot skull, for sure.  I’d bet my life on it,”  Ralph told WWN.

We contacted a number of Bigfoot experts.   Dr. Lee Blanton of Alberta, Canada confirmed that the Barnkopf skull was, indeed, a Bigfoot skull.

The head looks like it belonged to a Bigfoot that looked like this:

“I was looking for some fossils,” the 69-year-old “semi-retired” anthropologist told WWN, “and I was kind of drawn to something in the ground.”

It was a rock, sticking up out of the dirt.

“So I went and dug it out, and you couldn’t tell what it was ’cause the head was face down; all you could see was the back of it,” he said. “But when I dug it out you could see the face, perfect.”

The skull tips the scales at 70 pounds and is the first Bigfoot skull found in modern times.

“I’ve been tracking and watching for Bigfoot,” Barnkopf said. “I’m very curious, interested in that, and wanted to get footage on it ’cause I’ve ran across him a couple of times.”

“I think people need to be more aware, open their eyes and be more aware of what’s around us,” he said. “Because I think there’s a lot of ancient (things), and fossils and different things, around us that if people would just kind of open their eyes to they’d see that we walk past them every day.”

SUPER EARTHS FOUND!

Three Super Earths, capable of supporting life, were discovered by scientists.

Astronomers believe they are close to our galaxy and that all three “earths” can sustain human life. 

Super Earths mean they have between one and 10 times the mass of the Earth.

Previous studies had identified three planets orbiting the star, including one in the habitable zone.

Lead scientist Dr Gino Angelo, from the University of  Rome, said: ‘We identified three strong signals in the star before, but it was possible that smaller planets were hidden in the data.

Angelo said that the planets seem to be identical in make-up to Earth and that “you can almost seen the oceans on each of the planets.”  Angelo also picked ups signals coming from the Super Earths.   He thinks that “humans” on the Super Earths are also looking for us.

“We are looking for each other at the very same time.  This makes sense, given the Big Bang Theory, “Angelo said.

The Chinese want to take the “lead” on travel to the new Super Earths and stated that they will launch a space ship in the next ten years to go to each of the planets.

President Obama also hailed the discovery and plans to send a Republican delegation to the planets as soon as possible.

YOWIE SPOTTED IN LONDON!

A Yowie, a big hairy beast, has been spotted roaming the streets of London.

The latest sightings took place  just north of Camden Town in London.

Hundreds of witnesses have seen the beast strolling around London.  One resident saw the creature jumping a barbed wire paddock fence before briefly pausing at the edge of a road..

The Yowie raised his arm to apparently shield its eyes from the bright high beam glare of the approaching car.

“I would have seen it for between 20 and 30 seconds,” the witness recalled.

“It was really moving at the time. It leapt the fence no problem.

“All I can remember was seeing this large black object with a solid build, lanky legs and long lanky arms.

“It wasn’t clothed … it wasn’t wearing clothes like a human.”

Witnesses say the creature runs with a fast, stooped pace. It has high shoulders and almost no neck and a small head.

“It’s like its head was shrunken into its shoulders,” he said.

The Yowie hasn’t been seen in London in over five decades.  The last time Londoners saw the Yowie, the Beatles were just becoming famous.

Many in England are speculating as to why the Yowie has returned to London.  Sources in the government say that it probably has something to do with Climate Change.

“I believe that the Yowie is being driven out of the forests by Climate Change.  This is another reason why we must tackle this issue now,” said Prince Charles.

JERSEY DEVIL SPOTTED IN OKLAHOMA

The monster-like creature, the Jersey Devil, was spotted in Oklahoma and has been terrorizing local residents.

Some have suggested that the creature could be a gargoyle, an El Chupacabra, or a relative of the Montauk Monster.

The image above was taken in Oklahoma and first posted on May 6 on the Wild Care Oklahoma Facebook page.

This image was sent to WWN.  It shows an Okie being attacked by the Jersey Devil:

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation  confirmed that the animal was a Jersey Devil and they have contacted New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie, and demanded that the beast be removed from Oklahoma.

“Years ago we didn’t see much wildlife with this genetic deficiency for no hair but it is more common now.  And this is the most dangerous hairless beast on the planet,” said John Todd of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife.

Oklahomans were told to be “on the look out” for the Jersey Devil.  And it’s best to spot him at night:

Katy Perry shocked the world with the announcement of her engagement to Robert Pattinson.

They’ve been a shoulder to cry on for each other since their respective splits from Kristen Stewart and John Mayer – and now they are in love, and engaged!

Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry celebrated their engagement by going to a Bjork concert at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. 

The pair were said to have met up ‘discreetly’ and made their way into the gig together before leaving separately to avoid photographers waiting outside the venue.  But inside, they shared the news with celebrities, and fans, that sat near them.

“Katy was thrilled.  She couldn’t wait to tell the world about the new man in her life,” said a fan who sat near the couple.

Katy and Robert have been spending a lot of time together in recent weeks, and it’s even been claimed the songstress has even taken her pal to visit her parents in Santa Barbara, California.

There has always been serious chemistry between the two.  And now it is confirmed… “Robert wants to spend eternity with Katy,” said a source close to Pattinson. “He feels that she is his true soulmate.”‘

The pair was spotted checking out wedding place outside Los Angeles and near Palm Springs.  

“Katy and Rob.  It’s going to be the wedding of the century,” said a big Hollywood agent.

WORLD’S BIGGEST SHARK

The catch set the record for the biggest mako shark and is one of the biggest of any catch ever.

Two videographers from an Outdoor Channel reality show were filming on a boat where fisherman reeled in what’s believed to be the largest mako shark in recorded history.

The 1,323-pound shark was caught off California’s Huntington Beach on a boat captained by Matt Potter, who has the apt nickname Mako Matt. A film crew from Jim Shockey’s The Professionalswas on board for the catch, which took more than two-and-a-half hours.

Great white sharks are bigger, but the speedy makos hold more allure for fishermen. Back in 1985, Field and Stream discussed why:

“Whites may be the top of the line so far as size and popular interest are concerned, but they don’t nearly have the appeal for sport fisherman that that make does. [...] Makos generally feed on swift prey like tuna and swordfish. The shark is swift and unpredictable, you will sometimes be facing one direction and fighting a fish you think is deep, when suddenly, frighteningly, the mako will hurl itself into the air and go crashing back into the sea just a few yards from the cockpit.”

The group of fisherman, who go sport fishing 20 times per year, spread a combination of ground sardines and mackerel to lure the sharks to the boat.

I still feel the soreness in every bone,” James Johnston, one of the fishermen, said. “It’s the scariest thing I’ve ever done in my life.”

CRAZY ANTS ATTACK!

DALLAS –  Crazy, biting ants invade by the millions – and kill by the hundreds!

Crazy, raspberry ants are swarming into Texas – and they’re taking no prisons.  They are destroying property and attacking humans.  There have been 67 lethal attacks in the last two weeks.

The Crazy Ant Poison that U.S. Exterminators use only stops them for a day, and then a fresh horde shows up, bringing babies.   You can’t escape these ants.  Once they target you or your property  – they are relentless and will send millions of troops to get you

The ants have also taken down huge industrial plants  and have attacked farm animals.  Over 3,000 cows and pigs have been killed by the crazy ants so far.

Controlling them can cost millions of dollars.  And there’s no surefire way of controlling them.

“Months later, I could close my eyes and see them moving,” said Jack Mooney, who curates the ant, mosquito and scarab collections at the Texas State Entomological Museum at the University of Texas.

He’s been back to check on the hairy crazy ants. They’re still around. The occupant isn’t.  Ant death.

Mooney himself was attacked himself and may have to have his legs and right arm amputated.

This entomologist, Mary Hillstrom, was attacked by the Crazies after she gave a lecture on how to fight them.

The flea-sized critters are called crazy because each forager scrambles randomly at a speed that your average picnic ant, marching one by one, reaches only in video fast-forward. They’re called hairy because of fuzz that, to the naked eye, makes their abdomens look less glossy than those of their slower, bigger cousins.

The “Crazies” on the move from Texas to Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana.  Some of the ants have taken over some motorcycles (it takes about 2.3 million of them to drive it.)

The ants also overwhelm beehives – one Texas beekeeper was losing 1o,ooo a year in 2010. They short out industrial equipment.

If one gets electrocuted, its death releases a chemical cue to attack a threat to the colony, said Roger Gold, an entomology professor at Texas A&M.

“The other ants rush in. Before long, you have a wall of ants,” he said.

A computer system controlling pipeline valves shorted out twice in about 35 days, but monthly treatments there now keep the bugs at bay, said exterminator Tom Rasberry, who found the first Texas specimens of the species in the Houston area in 2002.

Compared to other ants, these need overkill- and usually even that doesn’t work.  For instance, Gold said, if 100,000 are killed by pesticides, billions more will follow.

“I did a test site with a product early on and applied the product to a half-acre … In 30 days I had two inches of dead ants covering the entire half-acre,” Rasberry said. “It looked like the top of the dead ants was just total movement from all the live ants on top of the dead ants.”

The ants are probably native to South America, MacGown said. But they were recorded in the Caribbean by the late 19th century, said Jeff Keularts, an extension associate professor at the University of the Virgin Islands. That’s how they got the nickname “Caribbean crazy ants.” They’ve also become known as Rasberry crazy ants, after the exterminator.

KIMYE BABY GETS OWN REALITY SHOW

New Kim Kardashian baby, Kimye, has signed a contract for twenty-one years for a reality show.

Kim Kardashian has just given birth.  Kanye and Kim have become parents and Kanye missed his own record release party after Kardashian reported the feeling of unease.

No details have yet been released on the girl other that Kim gave birth at Cedars-Sinai, this morning, about five weeks before its expiration date.

BUT the Kardashian family has proudly announced a groundbreaking reality show deal for the new baby girl 21 years old.  "We will follow Kim daughter - for 21 years.   America will teach him to walk, to talk, go to school, get her first boyfriend and, eventually, having her own baby too. »

Bravo executives said that it is the longest TV case in the history of television.  "We know that the Americans will follow the baby for at least 21 years.  We are convinced that it will become a celebrity of reality even greater than his mother. »

Kim Kardashian, whose divorce from Kris Humphries has been legally finalized June 4 and Kanye West announced in December that they were expecting a baby. On the first episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" last Sunday, it was confirmed that the couple was expecting a girl.

It's the first child for Kim Kardashian, 32 and Kanye West, 36. New CD of Western 'Yeezus' is set for release June 18.

Kanye West and Kris Jenner were in the ER with Kim when she gave birth. None of the Kardashian and Jenner sisters have tweeted anything whatsoever about the birth of their niece.

Kim and the baby are doing apparently well. Initially, she did deliver approximately five weeks at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

HELL JOINS POPE ' S ANGELS

Francis Pope Blessed thousands of bikers at a mass of air opened on the site of St Peter and then joined the Hells Angels.

The Hells Angels stood out like a thumb sore among a crowd of thousands at a mass for the day Evangelium Vitae in the Vatican. As part of a three day celebration of the anniversary of 110 years, Francis Pope blessed the Hells Angels and then... joined the group.

The engines have been booming at the start of the mass.

During the homily, Francis has warned that "power and pleasure", inter alia, lead to God "replaced by fleeting human idols that offer the intoxication of a flash of freedom, but ultimately to bring new forms of slavery and death".

A parade of Hell's Angels, 25 miles from the city of the port of Ostia through central Rome on Saturday prompted some residents to complain of traffic and noise. Thundering engines Harley almost drowned in the Latin recitation of the prayer of 'Our father' who accompanied Francis as he greeted the crowd before standing mass in his jeep sunroof, Francis drove to the top of the main boulevard leading to St. Peter's square, blessing thousands of people in what was a giant parking lot of Harley.

Some estimates say half a million Hells Angels from around the world came to Rome for the anniversary of four days of Harley-Davidson.

The Vatican spokesman, Rev. Federico Lombardi stressed that it was probably a certain Catholic runners in the crowd and that, despite everything, everyone is welcome for a Pontifical mass.

"I know some great people who have big bikes," Lombardi said jokingly.

MICHAEL JACKSON GHOST TESTIFIES AT TRIAL

Ghost of Michael Jackson appeared in Court today and said his death an accident.

Ghost of Jackson, 50, spoke to the Court through the ex-wife, Brenda of Lionel Richie.  She has been "channeling" the ghosts of Michael.

Jackson family blame corporation concert, AEG - for Michael's death. They are alleging negligence and blame society for the hiring of Dr. Conrad Murray — since jailed for having given Jackson a fatal sedative overdose in 2009

However, Randy Phillips, CEO of AEG Live, stated that the legendary star Tombe insisted that his death was an accident, thus freeing Dr. Conrad Murray, who has been jailed to deliver a fatal a sedative overdose in 2009.

Speaking to the members of the jury in the Superior Court of the County of Los Angeles, Mr. Phillips is supposed to have claimed that the supernatural encounter was delivered through his girlfriend Brenda Richie, the ex-wife of musician Lionel Richie.

"Brenda called me to tell me that she was in communication with Michael, either through an intermediary or directly. She said Michael told him that this was not the fault of Dr. Murray - that he had accidentally killed himself. »

"Judge Yvette Palazuelos is supposed to be ' let the evidence", as Mr. Phillips has answered questions on an email he sent in August 2009.

He said: "I think I know that MJ is dead to and that exonerate Conrad. ''

A lawyer representing the Jackson family allegedly objected to the evidence, claiming it was "triple hearsay", as the conversation was relayed to Branda Richie with the help of a medium. But the judge that evidence are nonetheless.

Jackson was near Lionel and Brenda throughout his life and Godfather of their adopted daughter, Nicole Richie, 31.

When lawyers AEG continued to oppose, the ghost of Michael Jackson appeared in the courtroom and, after dancing for five minutes, testified himself.

Ghost of Michael told the judge that he would never die.  He said that he asked the doctor to help him sleep and the doctor accidentally gave him a "little too."

Michael also told the Court that it is "happy in the hereafter» and is spending most of his time with Elvis, Marilyn and Liz '.

Scientists have discovered that eating homemade pickles – cures obesity!

The best way to fight “fat bacteria” is to eat homemade pickles.  This is according to a new study out of Harvard, Cambridge and the Culinary Institute of America.

“If you eat homemade pickles, you will lose all the excess weight you carry on your frame,” said famed nutritionist, Jacob Walkmer.  ”Five to ten pickles a day after that will help you maintain your ideal weight, for the rest of you life.”

Microbiologists discovered that we are made up of 90 per cent bacteria. Nine out of every ten cells in our bodies are not human but belong to these microbial species (most of them residents of our gut). 

The pickles fight the bacteria in the gut and enhance growth of “fat-killing bacteria.”

“You have to eat the pickles as soon as you wake up and then have two or three right before you go to bed,” said Walkmer.  ”If you do this, you will, absolutely lose weight.”

If you change the ratio of bad bacteria to good bacteria in your stomach, you will lose weight – fast – according to the study.

Father's Day is for dads. That must mean if you're divorced from your kids' father you can sit back, relax and not have to worry about organizing gifts and celebrations for the day, right? Wrong.

The very least you can do is to talk to your children about how they intend to show their appreciation for their father and if they need help, you can give them a few sincere and thoughtful ideas. There are plenty of reasons why you'd want to do this.

1. He is the father of your children. Without him your children would not exist. Lots of women tell me they shouldn't have gotten married, but that's always closely followed by, "... but then I wouldn't have my kids." I've yet to hear someone say they wish they didn't have their children.

2. He will always be the father of your children. Children should never have to choose one parent over the other. By talking to your children about Father's Day, you're showing your children that they don't have to choose and nor do they have to hide their love for their father from you.

3. He shares the responsibility for parenting. As much as you and your ex may not see eye-to-eye on parenting and may have different rules, his different perspective may help improve and strengthen your parenting. And when the going gets tough, any extra reinforcement of consequences and discipline helps.

4. He does activities with your kids that you don't. There are a lot of activities I'm willing to try especially if my kids ask me, but there are definitely some I won't ... fishing, paintballing, auto-maintenance to name a few. I'm not wild about camping either. My ex, on the other hand is happy to do these and he appreciates that these are "his activities." That's a win-win all round.

5. His parenting time means free time for you. This is a no-brainer. When your children are with their father it means alone time for you, doing whatever you choose or need to do. It makes life a little easier.

6. He's a better parent than a husband. This might be a difficult reality for you but it's a win for your kids. Read numbers 1 and 2 again.

7. He's become a better parent since your divorce. If your ex has stepped up his parenting game since your divorce, chances are you've thought, "If only he'd been like this while we were married." Well, he wasn't and as frustrating as that may be, it could be the change in your relationship dynamics that has enabled this. His active involvement now is good for your kids and for that you can be thankful..

8. Not everything about your marriage was bad. With divorce, it's easy to remember the bad times, the fights, the disagreements, the ugliness but in reality there were probably some good times too. There were times when you made each other laugh and times when you had fun outings as a family.

My ex is an avid skier, dare I say, obsessed? We were a ski family. I became a much better skier because of him and our kids have skied since they were toddlers. We had some fun vacations, visited lots of different ski resorts and some of our ski friends are still my friends today. This past winter, my daughter joined her college ski racing team and experienced the unique camaraderie of a collegiate sports team. A love of skiing is one of my ex's gifts to us.

9. You were right for each other once. Even though you're no longer a couple, you chose to be together for a reason. Your relationship is part of your journey through life and is part of your growth even if it meant growing apart. He is a part of who you are today.

In helping your children honor their father on his day you're also teaching your children an important and valuable life skill about showing appreciation for others. It's a skill that will serve them well as they make their way through school, college and the workplace. If that's not justification enough for you to appreciate your ex this Father's Day, then consider this: Mother's Day is only 330 days away!

CNET Story Alleging NSA Can Listen To U.S. Phone Calls Without Warrant Faces Skepticism

A blockbuster article published by CNET Saturday night alleges that the National Security Agency has the power to listen to Americans' phone calls without a warrant.

That bold assertion lit up social media, but also drew skepticism, with many arguing that it seemed to be based on a misunderstanding.

The core of the CNET article focused on an exchange between Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) and FBI Director Robert Mueller at a hearing on Thursday. (Watch above.) During questioning, Nadler claimed that in a separate, closed-door briefing, he had been told that NSA analysts could listen to the contents of a phone call at analysts' discretion.

Given the apparent illegality of listening to Americans' phone calls without warrants, some questioned whether Nadler understood the briefing he cited. As of late Saturday night, several publications were not able to reach the congressman for comment.

Mother Jones's Kevin Drum writes that "information from that telephone" could mean one of many things, and that Nadler may have been "confusing the ability of an analyst to get subscriber information for a phone number with the ability to listen to the call itself." Normative's Julian Sanchez wrote that Nadler may have been referring to a more limited set of circumstances than the CNET article implied.

UPDATE: Nadler walked back his comments in a statement to BuzzFeed on Sunday. “I am pleased that the administration has reiterated that, as I have always believed, the NSA cannot listen to the content of Americans’ phone calls without a specific warrant," he said.

Braves Beat Giants As Romo Blows Save

ATLANTA -- Sergio Romo insisted he didn't blow his cool.

He couldn't deny he blew the save.

The Giants' closer forced in the tying run with a bases-loaded walk to Justin Upton and then gave up the game-winning single to Freddie Freeman, yielding two runs in the ninth inning of Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Atlanta Braves.

"That's baseball," Romo said. "You cannot control certain things. I went out there and I tried my best. It didn't go so well. It's never a good feeling when you let your team down."

B.J. Upton hit two homers off Giants starter Chad Gaudin, but San Francisco led 5-4 entering the ninth.

Romo (3-3) walked pinch-hitter Evan Gattis, who was replaced by pinch-runner Reed Johnson, with one out. Andrelton Simmons followed with a grounder that skipped past third baseman Joaquin Arias for an error, putting runners on first and second.

Jason Heyward followed with a liner that fell in front of left fielder Andres Torres, loading the bases.

Justin Upton took a close 3-2 pitch for a ball to force in the tying run. The pitch, which had Upton backing away, was close to the inside part of the plate. Romo took a few steps toward the plate to express his disagreement.

"It was a close pitch but I obviously think it's a ball," Upton said. "Pitchers want that pitch. It went my way."

Added Upton: "I've seen him a few times so I know what to look for."

Asked about the 3-2 pitch, Romo said "It really doesn't matter what I think. The outcome of the game is already settled."

Romo said he didn't let the walk affect his concentration against Freeman.

"I was fine," he said. "I had to focus. We were still in the game. Although they tied the game we still had an opportunity to keep playing. You got to dig down deep right there and stay focused."

Romo threw Freeman two sliders – one ball and one strike – before trying to sneak a fastball past the big first baseman. The left-handed hitting Freeman turned on the pitch, lining the game-winning single to right field.

"I just put my foot down and swung when I saw the ball," Freeman said. "I don't look for anything. I just put my foot down and swing and hope for the best."

Romo took his third blown save in 19 opportunities.

Braves closer Craig Kimbrel (2-1) struck out Hunter Pence to end the ninth with runners on first and second. Pence drove in two runs.

Pinch-hitter Gregor Blanco led off the ninth with a single off Kimbrel, but he was thrown out trying to steal second base. Replays indicated Blanco may have beat the tag. The call proved important because Blanco would have scored from second when Tony Abreu doubled for his third hit.

Gaudin gave up four runs on eight hits in five-plus innings.

Pence had a run-scoring single in the Giants' three-run third inning and a sacrifice fly in a two-run fifth. Braves starter Mike Minor gave up five runs, four earned, on seven hits and a walk in six innings.

San Francisco relievers Jean Machi, Javier Lopez and Jeremy Affeldt combined for three scoreless innings before Romo gave up two runs, one earned, on two hits and two walks.

B.J. Upton's long second-inning homer landed about halfway up the lower section of the left-field seats.

Upton's two-run homer to center field in the sixth drove in Brian McCann, who doubled. The homer cut San Francisco's lead to 5-4 and knocked Gaudin out of the game.

Simmons committed two errors after beginning the day with only four miscues for the season. Simmons' fielding error on Abreu's grounder led to an unearned run in the fifth. Buster Posey followed with a run-scoring double, which drove in Torres. Abreu scored on Pence's fly ball to right field.

Simmons made a wild throw after fielding an infield single by Juan Perez to open the sixth, but Minor pitched out of the jam.

The Giants took the lead in the third inning with three runs on four hits, including back-to-back RBI doubles by Torres and Abreu. Pence added a run-scoring single.

NOTES: The last time Gaudin allowed more than one homer in a game was Sept. 25, 2010, for the Yankees against Boston. ... Pence has a seven-game hitting streak and has RBIs in four straight games. ... Braves RHP Brandon Beachy, recovering from 2012 elbow ligament-replacement surgery, had been on target to make his 2013 debut on Tuesday before having tenderness in the elbow. Beachy had a MRI on Saturday and said the test showed he has only inflammation and no structural damage. ... The series ends Sunday night when Braves RHP Julio Teheran faces Giants RHP Tim Lincecum.
