Scores of mermaids have been spotted on the beach in Miami this week.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently concluded that mermaids are, in fact, real. And they were on the spot, yesterday, to speak directly to some, nearly a hundred, the sirens who had gathered in Miami Beach.
"Due to the interest of the series on Animal Planet (which some people think is false), sirens are gathered in Miami to meet NOAA to discuss the 'Mermaid rights' in the United States," said a spokesman of the siren, Lila Washburn.
Sirens have dozens of names and members of the family: Rusalkos in Russia and the Ukraine, Merrow in Ireland and Scotland, Mami Watu in West and Central Africa. Creatures such as nymphs, sirens, and the Dryads are often used interchangeably with sirens.
